Events
The battle begins. The Remnants charge forward through the tunnel of force Cassius created. Scourge angels soar overhead, flying toward the main campaign behind them—but a few descend to engage the Remnants directly.
Mavet and Mira join the fight, squaring off against the group. Solonor, still seemingly under a powerful enchantment, also fights on Benzosia’s side. He casts Chain Lightning and other destructive spells, targeting his former allies. Char breaks from the group and takes off after Benzosia herself. Varrick engages Mavet and Mira in combat, backed by Conrad Grixs.
Gunner eventually arrives through the portal, joining the fray.
Recognizing the enchantment on Solonor as a high-level effect, Sundara upcasts Dispel Magic and successfully breaks the curse. Solonor, once freed, immediately turns to Varrick and urgently tells him: he needs to get Sundara to the Heart.
Meanwhile, Cassius casts Gate, pulling Duke Oswald Beaumont directly into the battlefield. Though Oswald appears enraged at being summoned by Cassius, he quickly redirects his fury toward the enemy, joining the rest of the Savage Seven fighting below.
Far North, Char watches as Benzosia focuses intently on the Heart. She looses an arrow, striking her in the chest and causing her to falter momentarily. Benzosia lashes out at her in retaliation, siphoning life energy, but quickly returns her attention to the ritual.
As the battle intensifies, Sundara begins to feel a pull, like the resonance she experiences when communing with clockwork constructs. After communing with the heart, Sundara witnesses Asmodeus locked in battle with Karsus. Karsus, bloodied and struggling, turns and sees her. He remarks that she looks just like her mother. Sundara channels spell energy into him, fueling his resistance against Asmodeus.
The war for the Heart rages on.
