Events

Allara prepares a Hero’s Feast for breakfast. The group learns of a Wild Oni to the north named Baejin (meaning the Raging Tide), a mindless beast descended from one of Vaprak’s creations, consumed by unrelenting rage, in a cave at the island’s northern edge.

As they walk back to the Serpent’s Coil, Sundara notices angels spying on them from the clouds and Cassius sees numerous invisible sensors. They approach a fresh animal body in the snow with the words, “I Wish” spelled out in massive letters in blood. Sundara immediately messages Solonor and cast Scry. She sees an overgrown jungle, beige stone ruins worn by time. Solonor kneels, mask removed, wearing a loose, simple shirt. He is clearly focused on a spell, there are numerous other creatures (mostly yuan-ti) also focused on spells.

Without explaining to the group, she teleports to Alexei Faraday’s tower. The once-thriving structure now stands cold and lifeless, its spires crumbling.

Faraday looks like garbage. After Sundara pleads to him genuinely for help and information about Benzosia he tells her what happened. He says she is something not of this world, a mad sorceress attempting to resurrect a dead god. If Benzosia succeeds, it would likely be the end of the world. During their when she knew the duel was lost, she did not kill him. Instead, she tried to take his mind. He only escaped by taking his own life, returning to his tower upon death.

On return to his tower he studied about theology and the creator serpent.

His plan is to leave Karsus’ Folly. Ever since casting the All-Mage Spell at his charity ball, his body has been breaking down. He plans to go on “holiday” to Drakemire abandoning his studies. He leaves behind extensive research on theology, particularly on the Creator Serpents. Before parting, he apologizes for Beaumont, admitting it was a rash decision to resurrect him, especially after the group had handed over the artifacts. He bestows his wizard’s tower to Sundara.

Shar expresses a desire to return to the Serpent Lord’s shrine, as she has a history with the place but doesn’t tell the group. Sundara speaks with Varrick, telling him that she is upset because she feels this is her fault. He hugs her and gives her support before suggesting she apologize to Cassius.

Cassius speaks to the Precursor which gives him a signal related to the Creator Serpents. Cassius teleports them via trees back to the Serpent’s Coil in Kozah. They speak with Waterdancer and give him the requested items and more. He pays them for the extra items and lets them know he will set up meetings with the other houses of the Hangul Dynasty to work on access to Samugi.
