History
A sorcerer of legends, some say he is a lich, others that he has been alive since the survival of the fall of Nethero. Solonor says that he is of Mechanus and therefore immortal, lived at least over 1,000 years ago. He has an obsession with the plane of Mechanus and the hierarchy of the automatons there. Imagines replicating their perfect society. Long ago he tried to save Valendri, but they chose Karsus instead. He has lived for millennia, has seen the weave itself. Time does not pass for him like it does for others. He is well versed in Netherese magic and the monstrosities of Karsus. Has had multiple apprentices of Clockwork Magic throughout the years and has been in a romantic relationship with one other apprentice.
Was previously a member of The Savage Seven and was responsible in part for the destruction of Aurunat, The Inevitable. Stated that he has a sense of guilt over his role in that and would recreate The Inevitable using the pieces took from it. Is aware that Faraday is hunting him for his piece of Aurunat. Has purchased supplies from Gunner Ironford including Spark, but saw him as a brute.
Is known through Karsus as The Shipbuilder, a creator of various magical Clockwork Devices, such as the elevator in Ironford Prison, The Icebreaker, and the Clockwork Sentinels in New Calim and Langston.
Bequeathed a large deposit of dark iron by Gunner on his death, was not present at The Last Will and Testament, instead The Engineer went in his place.
Sundara and Solonor finally reconcile (Session 53) over dinner at Barrowmoor Manor. During dinner he mentions turning away from using spark for the sentinels and moving on to other projects. He says he is waiting for her to leave her current adventures behind and embrace her destiny at his side. He thinks it would take a few hundred years of planning, research, and acquiring magical artifacts to enact his plan to restore balance. At the end of the night, invited her to his home in Burning Hands and gives her a key to his workshop.
Quote
“I understand not being able to kill a thing that you love.”
Cast Wish to cure Sundara of the Phaerimm Sickness curse at great cost to his strength and magical ability.
Quote
“Sundara, I am happy that you’ve survived. In the even that I don’t get the chance to tell you myself, I wanted to say that I am sorry I was cruel to you and lashed out at you and pushed you into exile because I was afraid of you. I’ve lived for a very long time, yet the mistakes I’ve made with you will always and forever be my greatest regrets. Goodbye.”
Current Activities
Upon discovering Solonor and Sundara’s relationship, Alexi Faraday expressed surprise, remarking that he had always considered Solonor heartless. Alexi then destroyed Solonor’s workshop and nearly killed him while Solonor was recovering from casting the Wish spell. Before departing, Alexi seized the Pieces of The Inevitable from both The Remnants and Solonor. Following this Solonor seemed uninspired and listless and travelled with Sundara while she took time away from The Remnants.
