Cassius, Varrick, and Japheth tried to infiltrate The Duke’s residence prior to the start of the current Mystrala campaign and were easily captured and sent to Ironford Prison. There The Duke told Gunner that Cassius was a particularly troublesome weasel and personally wanted Gunner to ensure that Cassius was killed once he arrived in prison.
Died after an impromptu battle the The Remnants. His daughter literally took his place, disguising herself to look like him, presumably, to prevent Cassius for being executed. She gradually took over until his resurrection.
Current Activities
Oswald Beaumont is alive and in power once more, now orchestrating the overhaul of New Calim. He seeks to dissolve the Merchant Consortium, reshape the city into an elitist stronghold akin to Brightwater, and eliminate the Remnants entirely. He has issued arrest warrants for Sarah, Varrick, and their allies on conspiracy charges, while also preparing for a siege against the Sea of Swords.
Personality Traits
Insecure schemer who masks his mediocrity with arrogance, believing himself to be a master swordsman and sorcerer despite lacking true skill in either. His ego is both his greatest weakness and his most dangerous trait—easily exploited yet driving him to make reckless, unpredictable decisions to preserve his image. Though his pride makes him vulnerable, Solonor warns against underestimating him.
