Session One: Arrival in Cindralis
Upon arriving in Cindralis, the group was brought to the Pyre of Ignus, where lines of supplicants awaited their brand of piety. Some in the crowd wept openly, while others stood in silence. Pleione offered comfort to a nervous teenager beside her, speaking gentle words of devotion. Corven, however, followed with a harsher truth, warning the boy he was going to die. The youth panicked and attempted to flee.
When the time came, Corven endured the searing brand with grim stoicism, while Plio accepted hers with open devotion, eager to prove her faith.
The initiates, Plio, Corven, and Haru were assigned a trial of strength: dragging a cart of heavy metal across a scalding grate, a test of both endurance and loyalty.
The task proved brutal. Many gave up before the cart moved more than a few feet. When overseers moved to mark the trio as failures, Plio resisted, insisting they continue. Haru threw his full strength into the effort, while Corven pushed forward despite the toll, suffering levels of exhaustion. Together, the group succeeded, dragging the cart across the grate.
They were assigned to a housing unit to rest before their next trial. That night, Haru was approached by an elven woman named Silvara, who asked him to meet in underground tunnels. There, she revealed an opportunity: a network working to help people escape Cindralis.
For each of their own reasoning, they agreed to help and were provided with new living quarters and access to supplies for their first mission.
