The passage of one quarter within the sanctuary has yielded measurable progress, though not without complication. Each of us pursued separate lines of inquiry.
I began with the matter of internal compromise. The possibility of a mole within the sanctuary necessitated structured observation. Patterns of movement, inconsistencies in reporting, shifts in access, each a possible hint. Despite this, I did not identify the source.
Parallel to this, my interactions with Marrion… evolved.
What began as coordination became familiarity. It was during a particular evenings exchange that she disclosed her origin: adopted daughter of the Spymaster. The revelation was delivered without embellishment. It recontextualizes her presence, her access, and her intent.
She proposed participation in the War Games at Conscriptus. Her reasoning was sound—visibility, influence, and the acquisition of respect within a system that values spectacle as proof of worth. Destabilization, in this case, is not achieved through absence, but through prominence. I assessed the proposal and later presented it to the group without alteration.
NOTE: Records and Mazarin’s own account indicate that she devoted her time to locating her mother and her lineage. Initial efforts produced no results. However, she eventually identified a concealed, well-maintained grove, in the outskirts Verdania. There, she was approached by an unidentified woman. Through sharing of her personal memories, the woman extended an invitation into their druidic society, noting she know of Mazarin’s mother but not her current whereabouts.
NOTE: Charles undertook efforts to recover his memory with Mazarin’s assistance. Fragmented recollections were restored: a weapons shop in Cindralis, operated by his parents; traversal through the Embermaw; and a union with an individual named Samira, formalized under Agati traditions. The induction into that culture appears to have been strategic in nature, his role as a spy confirmed in part by his own account. Subsequent attempts to locate this individual led him to Syreal, though no reunion with Samira occurred. He returned to the sanctuary without resolution.
NOTE: Enoch dedicated his time to theological and philosophical study, drawing comparisons between Xalithea and Vorrukai. In parallel, he engaged in artistic practice, primarily painting.
As a collective, we reconvened following this period of independent activities. The proposal to enter the Conscriptus War Games was presented, evaluated, and accepted.
This decision is not without consequence. Participation requires exposure. It invites scrutiny from the Empire, from its adversaries, and from those who operate between. But it also offers control.
If influence is to be exerted within Conscriptus. It will be through demonstration of skill.
