We breached Her Majesty’s Prison under cover of night aboard The Icebreaker, guided by Cobb and his construct, One-Eyed Kresnik. The structure itself was built vertically into cliffs, each level growing more secure as we ascended. Our objective remained unchanged throughout: extract as many prisoners as possible, recover our people, and fracture Tasha’s hold wherever we could.
The ascent became controlled chaos. Enoch consumed a storm giant elixir and physically tore open walls and cages where keys or subtlety failed. We armed prisoners from fallen guards and released anyone capable of fighting or fleeing. A group of orcs we freed created a significant diversion near the lower levels, buying us time to continue upward.
Along the way we uncovered evidence that the prison served purposes beyond containment. Hidden records suggested prisoners, particularly Xalitheans, were being cataloged and manipulated against one another or other entities for entertainment.
We successfully recovered Father, Corvin and Isolde Valantis from one of the upper floors. Father appeared exhausted but intact.
Another level housed what appeared to function as a drunken holding ward for politically inconvenient or otherwise disruptive individuals. Otiluke was present there in a heavily intoxicated state and offered little meaningful assistance. We also encountered a tiefling woman named Fiona attached to an official delegation of some kind. Her discomfort appeared genuine enough that we extracted her alongside the others.
At the summit we encountered the prison’s warden: Veric Tul, called the Falling King. Engagement was brief and violent. Rather than remain trapped in prolonged confrontation, we committed to extraction, and quickly dealt with him. We escaped by leaping from the prison heights. Cobb secured our retrieval at sea exactly as promised.
We departed with prisoners, supplies, intelligence, and a prison left in disarray. For the first time since Conscriptus fell, it felt possible that Tasha’s control could be made to bleed.
