Impression

Conscriptus is not a place one loves. It is a place one survives, excels, outmaneuvers. We call it home because we were born there, not because it offers comfort. The streets are ever-changing, territory redrawn not with ink but blood and leverage. A House may rise in the morning and fall by nightfall. And yet, there is beauty in the brutality—discipline, precision, clarity of purpose.

All of the noble houses traces its line to Xalithea the Forever-Blade. Her legacy endures in expectations. The firstborn daughter leads and the sons serve. Struggle for dominance is not a flaw, but a virtue and power earned through competition is the only kind that matters. It is not unity that strengthens us, but friction.

The Black Armada selects its officers from our city because we understand what it means to command and what it costs.

Now that I have left, I see how much of myself was forged there.

NOTE (Editorial Addenda)

As with all journal entries attributed to Luminora Katharis, readers should remain aware of her origins in House Katharis of Conscriptus. While her tone is notably restrained and her observations often carry a striking degree of self-awareness, this account reflects the perspective of a noble heir and participant in the city’s elite structures. Her depictions, while likely accurate in many details, may underrepresent the lived experiences of those outside the Houses’ influence. Still, the clarity and consistency across her entries suggest a genuine effort toward impartiality, if not objectivity.
